Since age 14, when he received a scholarship to Blade Dance Academy in New York, Donovan has hands-down grown into one of the youngest talents making big waves in the Southwest. In 2012, his remarkable talents rewarded him the Best Male Dancer Award at the “So You Think You Can Dance Experience” in Las Vegas. In 2013, he took it to a higher level and made it onto the nationally acclaimed television show “So You Think You Can Dance”.
In 2014, Donovan became a part of the NDA/NCA staff where he was able to share his skills nationwide. Not only did he help train high school and college dance teams across the US, but he has also had the opportunity to judge state and national competitions. Donovan took his talents a step further and moved to Los Angeles, California, where he currently resides. Since living in LA, he has worked with choreographers such as Will “WillDaBeast” Adams, Ian Eastwood, Tessandra Chavez, Antoine Troupe, Gil Duldulao, Brian Friedman, and Tucker Barkley just to name a few.
Donovan was cast to dance for Janet Jackson on her “Unbreakable Tour” in 2015. He was also cast in “Every Single Step”, a choreography dance television show produced by Brian Friedman and Nigel Lythgoe and has also appeared in an international McDonald’s commercial. In 2016, Donovan was cast as a dancer in Zayn Malik’s “Like I Would” and Tinashe’s “Company” music videos. Donovan has also opened up for such artists as Rihanna, Soulja Boy, Frankie J, Baby Bash, K.C. and Jojo, Paul Wall, and Lil Rob. Donovan, now 23 years old, is currently a faculty member on The Streets Dance Convention and Competition and teaches at the Millennium Dance Complexes in Los Angeles and Orange County, California.
